Common questions
- Is the name check free?
- Yes. Enter a candidate name and business description to review preliminary trademark findings and selected domain checks. No account or card is required for the initial check. Saving a result to GleanMark is a separate, optional step.
- Does an available domain mean I can use the name?
- Domain registration and trademark rights are different questions. An available domain does not establish that a name is free of trademark conflicts. Review the trademark matches and the goods or services they cover before deciding.
- What does this check cover?
- The check searches U.S. federal trademark records, checks selected .com, .ai, .io, and .co domains, and requests a limited web search. It is a preliminary screen, not a comprehensive clearance search of state records, unregistered uses, or international rights. Unverified lookups are shown separately.
- Is this legal advice?
- No. Glean.name provides information to help you investigate a proposed name. A favorable preliminary finding does not guarantee a right to use the name or obtain a registration. A trademark attorney can advise on your specific decision.
